FibroTouch FT100: Non-Invasive Liver Assessment
Thien Nhan Hospital is equipped with the FT100 Liver Elastography Ultrasound System from Hisky Medical to quickly, safely, and non-invasively assess liver tissue stiffness (Fibrosis) and the degree of fatty liver (Steatosis).
Operating Principle
The FT100 utilizes Shear Wave Elastography (SWE) ultrasound technology to:
- Measure liver stiffness –> Assess the degree of fibrosis (F0 – F4)
- Measure the degree of fat content in the liver –> Classify the level of fat accumulation (S0 – S3)
The entire procedure takes only a few minutes, is painless, requires no anesthesia, and can be repeated multiple times to monitor disease progression.
Outstanding Technical Advantages
- Non-invasive, serving as an alternative to liver biopsy in many monitoring cases.
- High sensitivity to changes in liver tissue, supporting the early detection of structural alterations.
- Automated and stable measurement process, reducing dependency on the operator’s technique.
- Suitable for use in routine screening examinations and long-term treatment monitoring.
Clinical Applications
The FT100 system supports the assessment and monitoring of various chronic liver diseases:
- Viral Hepatitis B and C
- Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)
- Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
- Staged Liver Cirrhosis
- Metabolic disorders in patients with obesity, diabetes, and dyslipidemia
Value for Doctors and Patients
- Helps doctors accurately assess the degree of liver damage, thereby establishing suitable treatment protocols for each stage.
- Allows for comparison of results over time, monitoring treatment efficacy without the need for invasive procedures.
- Provides patients with a gentle, reassuring, and easily accessible examination experience.
